Projects

WALBERTON

Planning application granted: January 2012

PROJECT SUMMARY

The Holly Tree pub is at the heart of Walberton village and has been in existence as a public house since 1867. As is the case with so many village pubs, it has suffered from chronic under investment under previous owners and has struggled due to the competition from supermarkets and the recession. We have planning consent to refurbish the Holly Tree and also to provide bed and breakfast accommodation.

To the rear we have planning permission for 6 high quality houses retaining the features of the characteristic properties in the village nearby. The houses will be set around a traditional village green.

THE PROPOSALS WOULD DELIVER:

  • Public house refurbishment with bed and breakfast accommodation
  • 6 new village homes
  • Significant contributions towards a new pre-school building
  • Contributions to new play equipment for the village of Walberton
