Recent improvements in conditions (it’s finally stopped raining) have allowed us to make significant progress on our sports pitches at Shopwyke Lakes, working alongside our appointed contractor, White Horse Construction.
The project will provide two football pitches and three cricket squares, designed to meet a high-quality Sports England specification. Over 3,000 tonnes of subsoil have been delivered to site to create the formation level, the primary drainage has been installed, and a rising main has been connected to our retained land to the south. The topsoil import, secondary drainage, and seeding of the pitches are scheduled to be completed in August.
Our contractor will then return in the autumn to finish the planting before the hedge and the 12-month establishment period commences.
